Golden News??

Golden news is all that I am hearing about Gold.I just read today that gold prices will reach new heights. So I believe its good time to invest in gold and silver.Gold has been consistently raising in 2 years. There are options to invest in E-Gold and Gold ETFs.

E-Gold is operated by NSE first time in India. One should have Demat account for this amd any time it can be converted to physical gold.It can be purchased in smaller denominations like 1gm,2gm etc

Gold ETF allows money to be invested in commadities. There is no conversion option to physical gold form.

I came to know that investing on gold jewelry is always better than gold coins or bars. While purchasing we should take care of modern designs which may lose its value. So always go for older designs which will have long life and less making charge.

How to get a First Marriage Certificate

Yes,you may feel this a strange certificate as it happened to me.But it was one of the policies of the marriage hall(choultry) in my native. They wanted not child marriage certificate and the first marriage certificate.

The first one could be proved with your date of birth and the second one ...even the officials of the choultry did not know.Really Strange!!? These policies were done for a good cause which I too agree to some extent. They did not want to support child marriage and second marriage.

After a thorough research with a lawyer, got to know that there is no certificate like 'First Marriage Certificate' issued from Government offices. So,solution is to make an affidavit signed by both the bride and the groom.

Here are the guidelines on how to get first marriage certificate...

1.Get a stamp paper from any bank or sub-registrar office.

2.Print the content which states that you are a bachelor/spinster till now and you are going to get married.

3.State the  date and venue of the marriage.

4.Sign in front of the notary .Then the notary signs and puts a seal certifying you are bachelor/spinster.

Similarly, any affidavits can be done with notaries. For example, if you lose your original college certificates, you can just go to the civil court near Majestic Mysore bank. There are so many notaries who will help you do your tasks. They even take you to magistrates to get the application form signed.

At the end, I have a question...How far is this authorized? Any one can pay the lawyer's fees and get a certificate of first marriage even though he is married before. Please answer if any one knows..

How to use ATM

ATM means Any Time Money..You need not go till the bank and wait for the bank to open to withdraw cash.I know ATMs have come long back but still I see some people struggling to use ATM.Here are some tips to use ATM.These are generic usage guidelines  but usage may vary slightly based on the banks.

1. First step is to get an ATM card and a PIN.Its definitely not advisable to share the PIN with any one.Insert the ATM card and enter the PIN number when asked.

2.Its very important to select the language which you are comfortable. If the PIN you entered is correct, there will be an option to choose language.Select the button next to it or touch the option on the screen.

3.Next,select a transaction.Could be withdrawal,Balance inquiry,Deposit,Funds Transfer,Bill payment etc. You can opt to get the receipts for the transaction you made. If  its withdrawal, enter the required amount and press "correct" button.collect the money within the time out period.Else ATM will swallow the amount:)

4.If its a deposit, enter the amount you want to deposit and put the money in the envelope and insert it in the slot provided. Some banks may not have this option in that case you will have to directly go to bank and deposit the amount.

5.In some ATMs,you have option to set favorite transaction that will be 40% faster than the usual transaction.

6.Other than this,ATM centers have drop box facility for paying credit cards, deposits.

7.Nowadays you may see that password must be re-entered for every transaction that you make. This is to prevent the misuse of ATM cards by unauthorized people.

Withdrawal and balance inquiry are the usual transaction that we make,So I have explained only those.Hope this write-up is helpful.

Where to invest for saving money.....

This is the first question that we get in mind if we think to save money. Here are some investment options if you don't want to take risk investing in stock market.

1.Public Provident Fund:

Investing in P PF fetches 8% of interest compounding annually. The investment limit is from minimum Rs.500 to maximum Rs.70000.There is a lock. The term is for 15 years. There is lock-in period of 6 years and from 7th year onwards 50% of the credited amount can be withdrawn. The interest earned is tax exempted.
This is a tax saver  since it comes under section 80 C
Note : Its good to invest before 5th of every month since the interest is calculated from 5th to 29th of every month.

Check this link for more detail.
http://www.bajajcapital.com/gss/ppf.html

2.Fixed Deposits : There are many nationalized banks which are giving good interest on fixed deposits. It starts from 45 days to 555 days and there is upto 9.75% of interest.

3.LIC : Its always good to have one policy of long term so that it will fetch good amount of money after the term closure.Even loan can be availed on the bond.

4.National Savings Certificate :In this case, interest is compounded half yearly. But the interest earned is taxable. This is a tax saver also since it comes under section 80 C
More details in this link
http://www.bajajcapital.com/gss/nsc.html

5.Investing in Gold or Silver : As the price of Gold and Silver are soaring high, one can invest in Gold coins or Silver bars.In a year or two it definitely returns good profit. If buy jewelry,we don't sell and we always try to save it.so from investment point of view, buying jewelry may not be a good option.

Are there any other non-risky options?
